LGBT Sports Profile: Ivan Solis Jr. - famed founder

Our profile this week is of Ivan Solis Jr., founder and still very active member of the San Diego American Flag Football League (SDAFFL).

Solis was recently inducted into the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL) Hall of Fame, one of only three inductees chosen nationwide. It was only the second induction ceremony for the NGFFL.

Originally from San Francisco, Solis has been a resident of San Diego for 17 years.

He is currently single and makes his home in North Park.

Gay Bowl XI: The road to Houston for two San Diego flag football teams

This weekend, October 6-9, over 500 players from 25 teams will land in Houston to take part in Gay Bowl XI, the nation’s premiere annual flag football tournament and the national championship tournament for the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL).

All-stars from 21 cities will take part in the three day tournament, to determine which city boasts the best. Gay Bowl XI also marks the introduction of its first international team -- the Toronto Mounties.
