ONE Gallery & Museum presents "Joey Terrill" exhibit May 18 to Aug. 25

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives presents a retrospective exhibition of work by Los Angeles-based queer Chicano artist Joey Terrill covering five decades of the artist's work including paintings, drawings and artist publications.

"Joey Terrill" runs from May 18 to Aug. 25 at the ONE Archives Gallery & Museum, 626 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069. The opening reception is from 5-8 pm Saturday, May 18.

"Brother Outsider: The Life Of Bayard Rustin" to be shown in LA

LOS ANGELES -- For Black History Month, you can catch the documentary, "Brother Outsider: The Life Of Bayard Rustin," this weekend in L.A.

The film will be shown from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, Feb. 17, in the ONE Culture Series at ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives, 909 W. Adams Blvd., in Los Angeles, CA 90007.

Admission is free, but organizers are suggesting a donation of $5 to help cover expenses.

UPDATED: L.A. City Hall goes lavender for LGBTQ Heritage Month

LOS ANGELES -- City Hall will be glowing in lavender light tonight in celebration of LGBTQ Heritage Month.

The Office of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives will observe LGBTQ Heritage Month with the opening of “Defiant Spaces,” an expansive timeline exhibition about the history of LGBTQ organizations in the L.A. area.

ONE Queer Film Fest seeks entries

LOS ANGELES – Deadline is Thursday, March 15, to submit entries to the third annual ONE Queer Film Festival.

Shorts and features with LGBT themes are eligible for the film festival, which is produced by ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives, the world’s largest LGBT history collection.

Short films should run 5 to 15 minutes, while features should run 60 to 90 minutes.

The film festival will be presented during the spring in Los Angeles as a benefit for the archives.
