Pita Jungle benefits Meals-on-Wheels and San Diego seniors

SAN DIEGO – Pita Jungle will donate 10% of the proceeds from its Specials Menu to Meals-on-Wheels, effective through Dec. 31.

With items like the Curried Coconut Soup with Chickpeas or the Wood-Fired Cod Salad, Pita Jungle offers a menu to keep warm and healthy during a season that is loaded with casseroles and sweets. Meals-on-Wheels supports San Diego seniors.

Hillcrest Business Association elects 2012-13 board of directors

SAN DIEGO -- The Hillcrest Business Association (HBA) held its Annual Meeting and Quarterly Member Open House on Tuesday evening, which included the election of the organization's 2012-13 board of directors.

Held at HBA member business Pita Jungle, the event was open to all community members, who were able to meet and interact with the organization's staff, board and volunteers.

TONIGHT: Bob Filner to speak at Hillcrest Town Council meeting

SAN DIEGO -- Hillcrest residents are invited to tonight's Hillcrest Town Council (HTC) meeting, which will include discussion on a number of topics of interest to the neighborhood, including a presentation by Congressman Bob Filner, who is also running for mayor.

The meeting, which begins at 6:30 pm, will also include presentations from representatives of other local elected officials and allow time for participants to ask questions or make comments about issues important to them.

Pita Jungle: Eat for a Cause to help Monarch School, serving students impacted by homelessness

SAN DIEGO – In a unique partnership, Hillcrest’s newest restaurant, Pita Jungle, will begin a month long fundraiser to benefit Monarch School and its children impacted by homelessness.

Beginning Thursday, June 28, through July 31, a portion of the proceeds from Pita Jungle’s “specials menu” for dining in or take-out will be offered to Monarch School.
