Once again, SDSU recognized among top LGBT-friendly campuses

SAN DIEGO -- Creating an environment where all students feel safe, included and inspired to learn is an important part of the San Diego State University (SDSU) experience. That effort has again been recognized by Campus Pride on its LGBT Friendly Campus Climate Index, where SDSU is ranked this year as one of 32 “Five Star” campuses in the nation.

The Campus Climate Index takes into consideration LGBT inclusion policies, support and institutional commitment, academic life, student life, housing, campus safety, counseling and health and recruitment and retention efforts.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- San Diego State University (SDSU) continues to shine as a safe haven for LGBT students, receiving a five-star rating for the second year in a row from Campus Pride.

The region's oldest, largest university joined 32 other schools from across the nation that received the highest "gay-friendly" rating the index offers.

SDSU engages the campus community with "Pledge Diversity" program

SAN DIEGO -- As the San Diego State University (SDSU) community celebrates men's basketball victories and continues its search for university President Stephen Weber's replacement, the campus Office of Diversity has started a campaign intended to foster an environment that supports, appreciates and respects diversity.

"Pledge Diversity" is a diversity and inclusion series, created by the school's Office of the President and Associated Students (AS), that calls upon the campus community to action in their commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive campus.
