Wisconsin appeals court upholds state's domestic partner benefits

MADISON, Wisc. -- The Wisconsin Court of Appeals today upheld as constitutional the state's Domestic Partner Registry.

In affirming a lower court decision that the law does not violate the state's constitutional amendment banning marriage equality, the court stated:

"... it would 'take pages' to list the rights and obligations that go with marriages but not domestic partnerships ... It is not necessary to list that many here to demonstrate that ... the rights and obligations of marriage are not substantially similar to the rights and obligations of domestic partnerships."

Appeals court: Boy Scouts can lease public land despite ban on gay members

SAN FRANCISCO -- A federal appeals court on Thursday said that two leases held by the Boy Scouts of America do not violate the constitutional separation of church and state, despite the Scouts' policies that prohibit atheists, agnostics and homosexuals from becoming members.

In San Diego, an organization chartered by the Boy Scouts leases portions of two popular city parks, and in exchange for spending money developing facilities on the land, the Scouts pay virtually no rent.

CHARGES DISMISSED!

After one and a half years of criminal trial looming over my head, a totally unconstitutional "stay away" restraining order from the 1600 Pennsylvania Ave (The White House) and too many friends telling me not to fight back, the Judge dismissed the case. Forever.

I like to take my time approaching new situations. While I am a bit shy with new faces and places, I warm up as I become more familiar with my environment.

Federal appeals court upholds termination of anti-gay human resources administrator

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A federal appeals court on Monday upheld the University of Toledo's decision to fire a high-level human resources administrator, who wrote a newspaper opinion column challenging the idea that LGBT people deserve the same civil rights protections as members of racial minority groups.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Court ruled that Crystal Dixon's column "contradicted the very policies she was charged with creating, promoting, and enforcing, and cannot be excused as merely a statement of her own views as a private citizen."
