Parents say anti-gay bullying is to blame for son's suicide

FENTON, Mich. -- The parents of a Michigan high school student who took his own life last week believe anti-gay bullying is to blame.

Josh Pacheco, 17, committed suicide on Nov. 27. His mother, Lynnette Capehart, said that Josh was gay, which led to him being bullied both inside and outside of school, reported MLive.

North Park joint-use athletic facilities to be dedicated today

SAN DIEGO – City, school and civic officials will dedicate upgraded joint-use athletic facilities in North Park on Thursday morning.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be from 10 to 11 am Thursday, Dec. 6, at 4041 Oregon St. at the site of the former North Park Elementary School, now ALBA High at North Park.

Speakers will include San Diego City Council president Todd Gloria, who represents the district, and San Diego school board member Richard Barrera.

The Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill, which now moves forward to the next parliamentary stage, criminalize same-sex marriages and civil unions, with penalties of up to 14 years jail for participants and 10 years jail for anyone who assists or witnesses such a marriage or union.
