Princes William and Harry back gay-run HIV charity

LONDON -- Britain’s pin-up Princes, William and Harry, have been asked to be ambassadors for the country’s leading HIV charity, Terrence Higgins Trust (THT).

The organization was started when Terry Higgins became one of the first to die of AIDS in the UK three decades ago. It was founded by his partner Rupert Whitaker and their friends.

Now the gay-run charity is celebrating its 30th anniversary. And William, Duke of Cambridge and his playboy brother Prince Harry have sent a message of support.

In response, the charity has said it would love them to become "ambassadors" for THT.

THEATER REVIEW: La Jolla Playhouse’s world premiere of “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots”

When you’ve got a 14-foot robot and nine other, more compact mechanical humanoids to play with, does a show need anything else?

Well, yes, it needs some sort of vestigial plot (check!), some human actors (check!) and – if it’s a musical – some songs (check!).

La Jolla Playhouse presents the world premiere of “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots,” based on the album of the same name by the alt-rock band The Flaming Lips. It really should be called a rock opera, since there is very little dialogue.

David Cameron facing "biggest rebellion ever" over gay marriage

LONDON -- UK Prime Minister David Cameron is facing the biggest Conservative rebellion if he plans to introduce gay marriage.

Nearly 40%, 118 Tory members of parliament out of 303, have said they will vote or are uneasy about the government plans to bring in marriage equality by 2015, according to The Daily Mail.

The report comes after there were claims the government would fast-track the bill and have a vote by January. It was alleged Cameron wanted to "get it done and get it done quickly."
