It's time once again for the sidewalks of Hillcrest to sparkle!

This Saturday from 10 pm to 2 am, SDPIX and Rich's will once again bring you the Glitter Party, and reportedly 50 pounds of glitter will be let loose within the club.

Last week I made a brief mention in my column about a Balboa Park water fight event that I received an invite to on Facebook. It looked interesting to me, being flash mob-like in nature, encouraging participants to dress scantily, and happening in a locale other than our usual haunts here in the gayborhood.

SAN DIEGO – Hillcrest’s annual community celebration, CityFest, will return for the 28th year this Sunday starting at noon.

On the outside, this street festival may look like one of the many other similar events that take place across the city year round – vendor booths, entertainment, fair food and beverages. But once at the event, one will see that CityFest has a character, spirit, flair and fabulousness that only Hillcrest can provide.

SAN DIEGO – In today’s economy, it is often difficult for small-business owners to stay afloat for more than a few years. Some, though, have worked their way through the economic challenges and only grow and thrive.

Such is the case with Hale Media, the parent company of San Diego Pix (SDPIX) and San Diego Gay & Lesbian News (SDGLN), which will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its SDPIX brand this Saturday night with a party at “Laser Party” at Rich’s nightclub.
