SDGLN Poll: Readers reveal whether they are gay parents

SAN DIEGO – Three in 10 readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll say they are gay parents.

Our poll question was: Are you a gay parent?

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 30% of readers are gay parents and 70% are not.

SDGLN Poll: Readers give their opinion on use of the word, "queer"

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll are evenly split over whether the LGBT community should “own” the word “queer.”

Our poll question was: The LGBT community increasingly embraces the word "queer." What do you think? Why not just own the word? Why go down that road? Or not sure.

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 46% of readers believe that the LGBT community should own the word, 46% don’t want to go down that road and 9% are not sure.

SDGLN Poll: Readers give their opinion on immigration reform

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll are overwhelmingly think that LGBT people will be eventually included in immigration reform.

Our poll question was: Will LGBT people be eventually included in immigration reform?

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 86% of readers believe LGBT Americans will be included in immigration reform and 14% don’t.

SDGLN Poll: Readers reveal whether they will get tax refund or pay

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll are split on whether they are getting a tax refund or paying the U.S. Treasury.

Our poll question was: Are you getting a tax refund this year?

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 46% of readers are getting a refund, 46% are not getting a refund and 7% haven’t done their taxes yet. Taxes are due today, April 15, but taxpayers can request more time.

SDGLN Poll: Readers vote on their favorite underwear

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll are split on what they prefer to wear under their pants, jeans and shorts.

Our poll question was: Which do you prefer? Boxers, briefs, boxer briefs, going commando or bikinis, thongs or jocks?

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 28% of readers prefer boxer briefs, 24% like briefs, 23% prefer to go commando, 18% like boxers and only 6% prefer bikinis, thongs or jocks.

SDGLN Poll: Readers predict how Supreme Court will rule on marriage equality

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll are split on their expectations of how the U.S. Supreme Court will rule on marriage equality.

Our poll question was: How will the Supreme Court rule on marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples?

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 48% of readers think that the high court will provide marriage rights to all, 45% predict that the justices will grant limited marriage rights, and 7% believe that the Supreme Court will deny marriage rights for all.

SAN DIEGO – A supermajority of readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll believe that the Fox TV hit series, “Glee,” has seen its better days.

Our poll question was: Do you think "Glee" has lost its mojo?

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 87% of readers think “Glee” has lost its mojo and 13% don’t.

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll say their drink of choice is beer or wine.

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll say they enjoyed the acceptance speeches at The Oscars more than other Academy Award activities.

Our poll question was: What do you like most about the Academy Awards? The choices were 1) The acceptance speeches 2) The red carpet 3) The celebrity watching.

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 45% of readers enjoy the acceptance speeches, 29% like the celebrity watching, and 26% prefer the red carpet.

SDGLN Poll: Who did readers choose as their favorite President?

SAN DIEGO – Readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll chose Barack Obama as their favorite President.

Our poll question was: For Presidents' Day, who is your favorite President? The choices were Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama or someone else.

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 39% of readers declared Barack Obama was their favorite President, 31% chose someone else, 23% said Abraham Lincoln and 7% picked Ronald Reagan.
