SAN FRANCISCO – Considered by some to be the “mothership” of all LGBT Pride celebrations, San Francisco will host its annual Pride event this weekend.

This year marks the 42nd anniversary of Pride in the city, which held its first parade on June 28, 1970 (with parades happening simultaneously in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles) to commemorate the one year that had passed since the Stonewall riots.
