NEW YORK – Today, the family of Tyler Clementi was joined by GLAAD, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), and Equality Matters in calling on Jennifer Morse of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) to apologize for her recent speech to Iowa State University students on February 17, in which she used the story of Tyler Clementi’s death as an example of why it is “not the best thing” to let lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people be friends with other LGBT people, or be supported by the LGBT community.

Tyler Clementi anti-harassment act re-introduced in Congress

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — During a dedication ceremony Monday of the Tyler Clementi Center at Rutgers University in New Jersey, U.S. Rep. Rush Holt, (D-N.J.) announced that he and U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) have reintroduced legislation in Congress that would require colleges to implement anti-harassment policies.

October is National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. With one incident of bullying every seven minutes, sadly, bullying is the most frequent form of violence children encounter.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- A judge has sentenced Dharun Ravi, the former Rutgers University student found guilty in the Tyler Clementi webcam spying case, to 30 days in jail.

Also convicted of anti-gay hate crimes involving Clementi, Ravi avoided a harsher penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
