VIDEO: Urban Mo's introduces new menu

SAN DIEGO – Diners at Urban Mo’s Bar & Grill in recent weeks may have noticed a colorful new menu.

The popular bar and grill recently revamped its menu options and look, making it the first major menu change in several years. The expanded menu includes a photo of several community personalities dressed up in wild costumes “playing” at the venue, which is considered by many to be Hillcrest’s “adult playground.”

FRIDAY: "A Very Babette Christmas!" to put Urban Mo's in holiday spirit

SAN DIEGO – The legendary drag entertainer Babette Schwartz will take Urban Mo’s Bar & Grill by storm for a special two-night performance of her show, "A Very Babette Christmas!"

During the show, which will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, and again on Friday, Dec. 23, Babette will spread Christmas cheer with her own unique brand of camp, humor and performance.

Urban Mo’s says that audience members should get ready to be “shot in the face with some Christmas cheer” at this “very festive HO-liday engagement.”

THURSDAY: Hillcrest Taste n' Tinis to add sparkle to classic holiday party

SAN DIEGO -- Hillcrest, known for being fabulous, will put a bit of sparkle on the classic cocktail party with the annual Taste n' Tinis event, taking place Thursday, Dec. 15 from 5-9 pm.

At Taste n' Tinis, participants head out on a self-guided walking tour of the neighborhood while enjoying drinks, food samples, and shopping at retail stores, restaurants and bars throughout Hillcrest.

TONIGHT: "Existing with Dynamic Virtue" fashion show to benefit Being Alive

SAN DIEGO – To support of the work of Being Alive, a local HIV/AIDS service provider, Integrité Salon will present a fashion show tonight at Rich’s called "Existing with Dynamic Virtue."

The event, which is being organized by staff of the salon, will include a fashion show, food reception, and a special performance by FLAVA.

TONIGHT: The Fuzzy Floozie Show to benefit winter blanket drive

SAN DIEGO -- The Imperial Court de San Diego's annual winter blanket drive will kick off tonight with the "Fuzzy Floozie Show" at Urban Mo's.

The event will begin at 7 pm and include entertainment and the opportunity to support the blanket drive, which has provided blankets and warm clothing to homeless persons and families in need throughout the San Diego and Tijuana region.

In San Diego, DADT repeal celebrations continued into the night

SAN DIEGO -- Such a major civil rights advance as the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) will only happen once and it was cause for celebration.

And in a large military town like San Diego, which is home to hundreds, if not thousands of gay and lesbian servicemembers, the celebrations were aplenty.

Immediately following the "Freedom to Serve" ceremony held Tuesday evening at The Center in front of a standing-room-only crowd, community members fanned out to bars and restaurants throughout Hillcrest and surrounding neighborhoods to continue the celebration.
