SAN DIEGO -- Volunteers are needed for the annual United States Police & Fire Championships, to be held June 16-24 at various locations throughout San Diego County.
The event, which began in 1967 as the California Police Olympics, promotes physical fitness, camaraderie and sport within the communities of public safety personnel. Competitions are open to full time law enforcement and firefighting personnel.
Over 55 sporting events will take place this year, with nearly 5,000 competitors.
