"Big Night" to be screened Wednesday at annual Hillcrest Movie on the Roof | VIDEO

SAN DIEGO -- The Hillcrest History Guild, along with Whole Foods Market and HillQuest.com, will present the sixth "Summer Movie on the Roof" on Wednesday evening.

This annual event typically draws crowds more than 200 people to the roof atop Whole Foods Market for an evening of fun, community spirit, food and film.

Event organizers have selected the 1996 hit "Big Night" as this year's film, the story of a failing Italian restaurant run by two brothers who gamble on one special night to try to save the business.

SAN DIEGO -- The Academy Award nominated movie, "Chocolat," will be shown for free during the fifth annual "Movie on the Roof" event in Hillcrest.

The screening will begin about 8 pm Wednesday, Aug. 3, with gates opening at 7 pm.

Bring your friends, folding chairs and blankets to the parking lot atop Whole Foods Market at Seventh Street and University Avenue. You can picnic in the space, but pizza orders will be taken. Whole Foods will offer a hot/cold food bar for $5.99 per pound.

Free chocolate delectables and movie snacks will be provided to guests.
